Lewis Carroll, wurde 1832 als Charles Lutwidge Dodgson in Daresbury / England geboren. Er studierte und lehrte Mathematik. 1856 veröffentlichte er das erste Gedicht unter dem Pseudonym Lewis Carroll. Für Alice Lidell, die Tochter seines Dekans, schrieb er 1865 sein bekanntestes Werk "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". Lewis Carroll starb 1898 in Guildford an einer Bronchitis.
